How does BPH develops?

Prostate forms a ring around the urethra.  This gland’s enlargement, due to internal tissue growth, can cause tightening of the urethra.  The urine flow weakens and the bladder can no longer completely empty itself.  Micturition is slowed down and ends in dribbling.  Residual urine can get infected, even reflux and damage the kidneys.
