How do you increase your resistance after the flu? 5 tips
Fine, you finally got rid of the flu! Ready to pick up where you left off. Right?
Well...no. The effect of the flu on our body does not go away in a snap. In fact, many still feel tired and not quite fit for some weeks. Do you want to prevent this as much as possible? Then, I have 5 tips for you.

Get-fit-again-tip: Adjust your pace
Are you over the flu? Take it easy for the next two weeks. In other words: adjust your pace. Plan fewer activities than you would normally do. Go to bed on time every night and allow for some down time between activities. Do not start putting your trainers right away and just skip the gym for some time. Just take it easy with sports!
Get-fit-again-tip: Provide a structure
Our body works well with balance and structure. This does not mean to do the same thing, at the same moment every day. What it does mean, is that you should, as much as possible, arrange your schedule according to your needs and limitations. Look for a balance between stress and relaxation. Most people do not listen to their need of "me time". Do listen, especially now! Besides this, go to bed and wake up at the same time every day. After you have had the flu, this is especially important in order to build up your immune system again. A chaotic daily schedule tends to slow the recovery process.
Get-fit-again-tip: Watch what you eat
Natural, minimally processed food gives your body what it needs, and helps to build up good resistance. For instance, brown rice contains nine times more mineral substances than white rice and whole grain products are richer in valuables substances than products made of white flour. Everybody knows that it is important to eat enough fruits and vegetables. But did you know that you should eat at least 400 grams (5-6 portions) of this green stuff? Limit your sugar intake as well, because eating sugar suppresses your immune system. Look here for further nutrition tips for a strong immune system.
Get-fit-again-tip: Think positive and avoid stress
Mind and body are more connected than you might think. You may not be able to think better, but by being positive, you can certainly feel better. Anyone who feels better, is more resistant in stressful situations. Stress puts our immune system at risk and prolonged stress even suppresses our immune system. Therefore, try to relax and to avoid stressful situations as much as possible. A nice way to stand calmer in life, is mindfulness.
Get-fit-again-tip: Echinaforce tablets
To speed up recovery, you can take Echinaforce tablets from A.Vogel.
