Home Remedies for your Hair
Your hair is continually subjected to hairdryers, flat irons, hairspray, gel and mousse—not to mention dyes. Here are a few home remedies to brighten it up.
To enhance your hair’s natural shine
Dilute 3 tablespoons of Molkosan (original) in 1 litre of water and use for your final rinse.
- 1 ripe pitted avocado
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- 2 tablespoons of honey
Mix the ingredients in a blender until smooth. Apply to wet hair. Massage into the scalp, leave in for 30 minutes, and then wash hair as usual.
Conditioner for dry hair and flyaways
- 4 tablespoons of olive oil
- 4 tablespoons of aloe gel
- 6 drops of rosemary essential oil
- 6 drops of sandalwood essential oil (optional – for a pleasant smell)
Mix the ingredients. Apply to your hair, starting with the tips and making your way to the scalp. Leave the conditioner in for an hour or two, then rinse.
For oily hair
To treat seborrhea, mix the ingredients and apply to your scalp. Leave in 30 minutes before shampooing.
To get rid of dandruff
If you have dandruff caused by a fungal disease, mix a few drops of tea tree essential oil into at least one tablespoon of avocado or sweet almond oil, and massage your scalp.
Leave in for a few minutes before washing your hair. Tea tree oil has excellent anti-fungal properties. This treatment usually clears up the infection quickly. If your hair is dyed or treated, be sure to use 100% pure and natural essential oil that does not contain any alcohol or sulphates.
