Who Said Making Babies was Simple? by Josée Fortin, nd
More and more, couples are choosing to start a family later on in life. Unfortunately, what women are not usually aware of is that the older we are, the harder it becomes to conceive. Infertility is an issue that is becoming more and more frequent; especially over the age of 35. Infertility is defined as the absence of conception after one year of regular intercourse without the use of contraceptives.
There are many possible factors that can cause infertility. In women, it can be caused by a physical change in the pelvic area due to inflammation, infection, sexual transmitted diseases, fibroids, endometriosis, IUD complications, excessive physical activity, malnutrition, extreme variation in weight, stress and exposure to toxic substances such as heavy metals, drugs, radiation and heavy smoking. Women can even sometimes develop an incompatibility with or an allergy to her partner’s sperm.
Hormonal changes, including pituitary gland failure, ovarian failure, endometrial failure and long-term use of the birth control pill can cause the inability to ovulate.
In men, infertility can be caused by inadequate sperm motility or sperm production. Environmental toxins such as chemicals, radiation, electromagnetic fields, drugs, heavy metals, cigarettes and pollution all play a role in the fertility decrease observed in men during the past fifty years. Stress, poor diet, frequent sex, prolonged exposure to heat from hot tubs and saunas, tight underwear or pants are all important factors that can contribute to this problem.
Other factors that can play a role are: varicose condition of the scrotum, undescended testes, infectious disease and glandular issues involving the hypothalamus, the pituitary and the testes. Obstruction of the seminal tract is an easily correctable medical condition. To ensure optimal fertility, men should eat pumpkin seeds (rich in zinc), bee pollen and royal jelly. Zinc increases both the sperm count and sperm motility. Both men and women should add essential fatty acids (omegas) since a deficiency in these elements can cause sterility and even miscarriage. Avoid coffee, tea and colas since caffeine promotes infertility. In cases of hormone deficiency, vitamin E is the fertility vitamin because it corrects endocrin gland functions. Good sources of vitamin E are green leafy vegetables, wheat germ and cold pressed oils.
When lack of sperm is the cause of sterility a supplement of L-arginine, an amino acid, can be helpful. Bio-Strath, combined with vitamin B6, will bring essential elements important in helping to balance reproductive hormones and, more specifically, the progesterone levels. The pill causes deficiencies in most B complex vitamins and using this supplement will help correct this situation by improving assimilation of these vitamins. Adding PMS Feminine from A.Vogel helps balance the hormonal levels and will gradually help ovulation to occur normally. This is particularly important after taking the pill for a long period of time. It usually takes several months to obtain optimal results and it is very important to stop taking this product once pregnant.
In order to minimize the risk of infection in the vaginal tract it is very important to rebalance the intestinal and vaginal flora. Take a good probiotic with human strains and combine it with Vitality Prebiotik from A.Vogel. After usage of one bottle of probiotic, maintain with Vitality Prebiotik. Vitamin C in men helps prevent the sperm from sticking together and improves chances of fertility. In women, vitamin C is very important for the maintenance of a healthy corpus luteum. It plays a key role in maintaining pregnancy during the first trimester. Therefore, the couple should take at least 1000 mg of calcium ascorbate (a non acidic form of vitamin C) per day until conception and the women should continue usage at least during the first trimester.
Finally, to help eliminate toxins that can cause a decrease in fertility, it is important to do a detox of the whole body on a regular basis to help optimize the chances of conception. A.Vogel Boldocynara is an ideal product for good cleansing of the liver. When combined with Vitality Prebiotik, it is even more effective in the elimination of toxins. Make sure to drink a minimum of 8 glasses of water a day to help cleanse. For a first time cleanse it is important to do so gradually to avoid uncomfortable reactions such as fatigue, headaches, nausea and loose stools. |
