Let’s talk about your prostate and prevention

When you’re in your twenties and thirties, prostate problems are far from being a priority and you never hear about them. That’s because at that age, you and other people your age tend to focus on studying, working, going out, starting a family and finding a home.

It's unfortunate that the prostate is kind of a taboo subject with most people, so you're not likely to hear your friends talk about it very often. But we all have an Uncle Harold who seems to spend most of his time in the bathroom at family gatherings or who can't drive from Montreal to Quebec City without stopping to pee by the side of the highway.

At what age do prostate problems appear? Are they something only old people have? What are the symptoms?

Here are the facts as they apply to a healthy male living in Canada in 2020: 1 out of 2 men will have prostate problems. Inflammation, hyperplasia and cancer are the most common problems, and you could experience any number of symptoms:

  • frequent need to pee
  • trouble urinating and emptying your bladder completely
  • pain when urinating
  • loss of libido
  • erectile dysfunction

Although prostate problems are most likely to appear when you're in your sixties, it's not at all uncommon to see people in their forties having issues. The exact causes of prostate problems are still a mystery, but pesticides may play a significant role.

Doctors typically treat prostate problems with Finasteride, which is available through your pharmacist under the brand names Proscar and Propecia or the generic version Terazosin. While these products can be effective, they come with many side effects, including loss of libido and erectile difficulties.

These issues might not be a big deal for some men in their eighties, but if you're in your fifties, you're more likely to still be sexually active and wanting not to have to rely on Sildenafil (better known by its brand names, such as Viagra and Cialis) for a satisfying sex life.

A natural, simple, highly effective and side-effect-free solution that can be used preventively

The berry of the saw palmetto tree, a small palm that grows in hot climes, might be considered man's other best friend. When ripe (red), the berry is edible and has the qualities needed to treat benign prostate hyperplasia (BPH) and thus help relieve erectile dysfunction and libido problems.

Though not grown in Canada, the trees do grow in Florida, where the growers working for A.Vogel pick the fruit in a pesticide-free environment on certified organic land.

Highly concentrated saw palmetto fruit is sold by A.Vogel in small capsules under the name Prostate 1.

One, easy-to-swallow capsule a day is all you need!

Each capsule contains 1 g of extract from 10 g of berries, resulting in a highly concentrated 10:1 extract. A single capsule therefore contains the equivalent of 3,200 mg of saw palmetto fruit. It is therefore the most powerful natural product for preventing BPH on the market, and it's entirely organic. What's important to note is that pesticides are the prostate's worst enemy . So, it naturally follows that using organic products to treat prostate issues is vital.

Not surprisingly, there are many natural products on the market for treating prostate problems, and some of their manufacturers use saw palmetto in combination with pumpkin seed, zinc or nettle... A.Vogel's thinking has always been, Why take three or four products when just one is enough?

It's important to choose an organic saw palmetto berry extract containing at least 80% fatty acids... otherwise you're wasting your time and money!

Saw palmetto has been proven effective by science time and time again , and research has shown it to be effective without any of the side effects of prescription drugs.

Better safe than sorry!

If you don't want to be a statistic by becoming someone who suffers from prostate problems, think seriously about engaging in prevention as early as age 40 or 50 by doing one treatment per year (one capsule a day for 30 days).

From age 50 to 60, I suggest two treatments per year (one capsule per day for 30 days every six months).

From the age of 60, you can take it daily.

Prevention can save you having to worry about being treated for a prostate problem later. As they say, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure! Don't wait for your quality of life to decline before treating your prostate problem.
