  • 2 beaten eggs
  • 1/3 cup Natur® Honey
  • 1/4 cup non-sulpharated molasses
  • 1 cup wholewheat flour
  • 1/8 cup wheatgerm
  • 1 tsp baking powder (without alum)
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup ground dates
  • 1 cup ground nuts

Beat the eggs then mix in honey, molasses and vanilla. In a separate bowl, blend flour, wheat germ, baking powder, salt and nuts. Combine the 2 mixtures. Pour half of the blend into a 9 inch square greased pan. Add dates and cover with the remaining mixture.

Cook for 30 minutes at 175°C. Cool and cut into bars. By using dehydrated ground dates as a sweetener, you avoid the use of sugar. Dates contain all the nutrients and are almost as sweet as granulated white sugar!
