- 2 beaten eggs
- 1/3 cup
- 1/4 cup non-sulpharated molasses
- 1 cup wholewheat flour
- 1 tsp baking powder (without alum)
- 1/2 tsp sea salt
- 1 tsp
- 1 cup ground dates
- 1 cup ground nuts
Beat the eggs then mix in
honey, molasses and vanilla. In a separate bowl, blend flour, wheat
germ, baking powder, salt and nuts. Combine the 2 mixtures. Pour half
of the blend into a 9 inch square greased pan. Add dates and cover with
the remaining mixture.
Cook for 30 minutes at 175°C. Cool and cut into bars. By using dehydrated ground dates as a sweetener, you avoid the use of sugar. Dates contain all the nutrients and are almost as sweet as granulated white sugar!
