I have sinusitis, what can I do?

Sinusitis, an inflammatory and infectious disease of the sinuses, is more and more frequent.

Sinuses are connected to the nasal passages by a single small and narrow opening. And herein lies the problem. When you get a cold, or if you suffer from nasal allergies, the tissues of the nasal passages, known as mucous membranes, become inflamed and swollen leading to a blocked nose. Furthermore, the opening to the sinuses becomes blocked.  Sinusitis can be acute or chronic.

Acute sinusitis is often caused by a viral or bacterial infection of the throat, nose or upper respiratory tract, such as a cold.  Chronic sinusitis are more a question of polyps, deviated nose septum, cigarette smoke, irritant exposures, change in atmospheric pressure or allergies.  When sinuses drain, the mucus goes down the throat (postnasal drip), creating another symptom of sinusitis:  sore throat or throat irritation.

A good way to eliminate sinusitis is to take Sinna.  Sinna combines homeopathic remedies that work synergistically to fight the tumefaction of inflamed and infected mucous membranes. It targets the different aspects of sinusitis as well as its main contributing factors.

In cases of chronic sinusitis, use Sinna several times a day (every 2 hours if necessary) until symptoms go away and then take a few times a week (4-5) for several months to help the sinus cavities heal (reduce inflammation).  This will reduce their risk of getting infected again.
There are no known interactions between allopathic medication and homeopathic products in general.  It is totally safe during pregnancy and breastfeeding.  In the first days of treatment, an initial aggravation of symptoms may occur. This positive manifestation will soon subside and indicates that the body is responding to treatment. When this happens, reduce dosage by half and gradually increase according to symptoms.

-Add a lot of onions and garlic to your diet, they help decongest and boost the immune system.
-Avoid food that causes congestion (ex. Dairy products, banana, oat…).
-Eliminate white sugar (reduce efficacy of immune system) and use honey instead.
-In cases of chronic sinusitis, find your food allergies or any other allergy that can irritate the sinus cavities.
